Special CBI judge Mr OP Saini of Delhi today adjourned to Jan 21 hearing of the arguments on Janata Party president Subramanyam Swamy’s application seeking the prosecution of Home Minister Chidambaram in the 2G case.
The judge listed the case for arguments on Jan 21 following the submission of documentary evidences by Swamy to prove the involvement of Chidambaram in the 2G scam. The court also completed the recording of Swamy’s statement in the case.
“The documents I have furnished will prove the connivance, collusion and consent of Chidambaram in his capacity as the then Finance Minister in the decision taken by former Telecom Minister A. Raja,” Dr Swamy told the court.
Swamy filed documents including a letter written by Chidambaram to the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Jan 15, 2008 and certified copies of the minutes of a meeting between Chidambaram, Raja and the Prime Minister during the tenure of Raja as the Communications minister.
Mr. Swamy charged Chidambaram of being guilty of breach of trust of national security by not disclosing that Etisalat and Telenor were black listed by the Home Ministry advisory. Swamy completed his statement today demanding that Chidambaram must be added as an accused in the scam. (JUBS)
