The YSR Congress Leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to be running into rough weather off late. These days CBI is after the young leader in the various disproportionate assets cases and about his contacts with mining Don Gali Janardhan Reddy, who had been arrested in the illegal mining case. The political grapevine says that shortly the country’s top intelligence bureau will be embarking on a journey to Mauritius to unearth the secret assets stored by both of them. CBI proposes to form two teams to officially investigate the properties of the leader. As per official sources the CBI has identified 16 companies which have regular transactions with the Jagan group will be investigated for discrepancies. The centre has already sent a letter to the Mauritius government to extend help in solving the case.
As per a source the CBI seems to have unearthed about 1300-2000 Cr inflow of funds from Mauritius to Jagan group of companies. Of these two have been identified and the rest are all companies which do not have a proper base. The CBI feels that the illegal transaction has taken place through these companies which are scattered around Mumbai, Hyderabad and Karnataka.
Gali – Jagan connection:
As per another undisclosed source the connection and irregularities between Gali and Jagan have been hinted to the centre by the CBI some time earlier. As per the report submitted the detailed analysis had been sent to the centre. But the report had not seen lime light due to the intervention of senior political heads on the issue. And hence the exercise became futile. Now the investigating agencies are also reopening the files submitted in 2008-09 and would like to probe into the political heads that have interfered in the case.
EMAAR case progress:
Another key company which the CBI suspects the hands of the young YSR Cong leader’s hand is the EMAAR. CBI has requested the Dubai government to inform about the various bank accounts held by Koneru Prasad and family, another key accused in the EMAAR case. Based on the CBI’s request the centre is to have sent a letter to the Dubai government and awaited the reply.
