The YSR Congress Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and the MP from Kadapa had embarked on his `Odarpu Yatra’, since sometime. During his visit to Guntur District the young leader had remarked that after the passing away of the former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekara Reddy in a sudden aviation mishap, the farmer had been neglected totally. He said that in spite of mounting issues that were paralyzing the farmer, the state could not move forward as the Minister for agriculture had yet to be designated. He continued his journey for the 49th day in the district from a village near Amaravathi. He addressed a group of farmers on Tuesday, and heard their problems.
He said the agrarian economy flourished only during his father, late YSR’s rule and ever after the farmer was a neglected section. As he moved along, he found that neither the onion growers nor the tobacco growers, or for that matter none of the farmers were getting their rightful share. He said most of them felt moving to urban places as laborers were a better option than leading the disgusting debt prone life. He also assured them that the troubles would come to end soon. It may be noted that the young leader had observed a fast at Armoor to highlight the plight of the farmers, last week.
