The government is leaving no stone unturned to conduct the annual Sammakka-Sarakka tribal festival at Medaram successfully.
The 4-day prestigious event, which will witness the participation of nearly ten lakh people including tribals and non tribals, will take off on Feb 8.
“All arrangements are being made with much fanfare. Like every year, this year also it should be concluded successfully. The Government is spending Rs. 55 Cr on the festival,” said endowments minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah at his residence in Warangal today.
Releasing the festival posters, Lakshmaiah said Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy will also attend the festival but a date has yet to be fixed.
“Officials are making the arrangements at a brisk pace and things would be in place in a few days,” he said, adding devotees attending the tribal festival will have improved facilities at Medaram. (JUBS)
