A group of 12 money lenders were arrested in Hyderabad for illegally fleecing money from the gullible public. The accused were taking higher interest from the debtors. The debtors registered a complaint and the police arrested them today.
The money lenders hailed from Charminar, Shalibanda, Kanchan bagh, Bahadurpura, Chandrayana gutta and other places. The lenders paid only Rs.8,000 cash for a loan of Rs.10,000. But at the end of the term, collected the entire amount of Rs.10,000. This was the basis of the complaint by the debtors. Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Kumar Sinha advised public to inform about such money lenders, so that they could take action against the erring lenders.
