Unscrupulous elements continued their attacks on the Ambedkar statues in the state inviting the wrath of the Dalith organizations and SC leaders.

While a chappal garland was found on the Ambedkar statue in the Jalalpur village of Nizamabad district, the statue of Ambedkar was destroyed totally at Lakshmipolavaram village in the Ravulapalem Mandalam of East Godavari district.

Both incidents took place early in the morning and Dalit organizations protested by conducing demonstrations and seeking action against the culprits.

The destruction of the Ambedkar statues first began in around Amalapuram town and then spread to Rajahmundry, Tenali and other places.  Police has far arrested three persons responsible for the incidents at Amalapuram. (JUBS)
