Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said today his party is ready to support the Congress post-poll in Government formation to prevent BJP from forming the government in UP.
Addressing election rally in Hamirpur, Singh said he can clearly see a wave in favour of his party. “We are sure of forming the Government after the election. However, in case there are signs of BJP coming to power, we are ready to support the Congress to prevent BJP from forming Government,” he declared.
Reacting to the announcement, Congress party said it is highly premature to comment on Mulayam’s statement at this juncture.
Congress spokesperson Renuka Chowdhury told reporters in New Delhi that the party would adopt a wait and watch attitude as more phases of polling are yet to take place in the elections.
