Janata party chief Dr Subramanian Swamy today filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the trial court order on listing the Union Home Minster P. Chidambaram as an accused in the 2G scam.
The CBI trial court judge OP Saini dismissed Dr Swamy’s petition on Feb 4 refusing to implicate Chidambaram as an accused in the case along with former communications minister A. Raja. Dr Swamy filed the petition in the trail court seeking to prosecute the Home Minister for his role in the 2G scheme during his tenure as Finance Minister.
“There was not enough evidence to add Chidambaram as an accused in the case,” said the trial court while dismissing the petition. Swamy has challenged this order in the apex court. (JUBS)
