Short circuit, fire accident in Chandra Bose house

Electric short circuit led to a fire accident in the house of cine lyricist Chandra Bose in Hyderabad this morning.

No one was injured in the incident as the family members ran out to save their lives after neighbors alerted them about the fire in the first floor of the building situated in the Anjali Gardens at Puppalaguda near Rajendra Nagar.

Police who visited the spot said the short circuit was the result of heavy fluctuations in the power voltage experienced by the area.

Family members said 1500 audio CDs and cassettes, 33 pairs of dresses and electronic items like computer and household equipment like fridge, washing machine etc were reduced to ashes.

Reports said Chandra Bose’s father- in-law Mr Purnachandra Rao was resting in a room at the time of the incident in the first floor but he also ran out immediately to save his life after being warned by the neighbors.

The portion of the first floor seemed to have been painted with thick columns of smoke and some of the walls also developed cracks following the incident. (JUBS)
