22 k apply for H1B Visas in four days

Nearly 22, 000 people applied for H1B work Visas. This has surpassed all previous records say sources. The US Citizen and Immigration authorities, who opened the work visa counter on April 02, said that in the first four days the office has received record number of applications. They also informed that compared to the last two years this year’s application surpassed the numbers. The craze for foreign employment seems to gripping the capitals denizens much. Many educated aspire to go abroad and the preferred destination is the United States. This undue urge has led to the demand in the visas.

The H-1B is a non-immigrant visa in the United States under the Immigration and Nationality Act, section 101(a)(15)(H). It allows U.S. employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialty occupations. If a foreign worker in H-1B status quits or is dismissed from the sponsoring employer, the worker must either apply for and be granted a change of status to another non-immigrant status, find another employer (subject to application for adjustment of status and/or change of visa), or leave the United States.
