 Jagan requests for campaigning

The incarcerated YSR Congress Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had applied through his council to the Hyderabad High Court, requesting for campaigning. The Kadapa MP today urged the court to grant him permission to campaign for the by-polls scheduled on June 12 in eighteen constituencies. YSR Congress has fielded candidates in all places.

The 39-year old leader who is in the judicial custody since last Monday is lodged at the Chenchalguda Central Prison. He indicated that he would like to express his views to the public. He alleged that the Home Ministry Principal Secretary, Jail DG, DIGs failed to grant him permission to speak to the voters about his views. He also quoted that as per Article 19(1) in the Indian Constitution, he should be granted permission to express his views to the voters through print and electronic media.

The young leader had been arrested in the disproportionate assets case. He was initially remanded to judicial custody and later the CBI was granted permission to question him for five days. His judicial remand shall end on June 11. While on the other hand he is being questioned by the CBI, today for the fourth day.  (With Inputs from Internet- Aarkay)
