Medical student rescued from abductors within 3 hrs

In a major breakthrough, Vijayawada police cracked the kidnap case of a medical student in the city. It took just three hours for the police to trace the missing student and finally she was handed over to her parents. The prime accused, who happens to be a driver, was taken into the custody along with another three miscreants.

According to the police, Swetha-the kidnapped girl-was a PG medical student at NRI medical college near Mangalagiri. She will commute to the college in a car. For the same, a driver was appointed by her father four months ago. Swetha, who went to college on Friday morning, didn’t reach by the end of the day.

Soon the parents received a call stating that Swetha was abducted and the miscreants were demanding three crore rupees. The parents soon approached the police.

The police suspicion turned towards driver Prasad when they got to know that the driver was on leave for 10 days and joined the services recently. Moreover, the kidnappers called up Swetha’s parents from her mobile phone itself. Based on the signals, the police were able to trace the area and finally arrested the abductors.
