Shirdi bus accident: 30 passengers killed, says district collector

The death toll in Shirdi bus accident is 30, according to the official reports. The collector of Osmanabad wrote to the Andhra Pradesh government confirming the deaths. Earlier, the sources said that 34 persons were killed. The collector has also said that the post-mortem was conducted on 28 dead bodies at Lal Court primary health care centre while post-mortem for remaining two dead bodies was conducted at a Sholapur hospital.  The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh expressed his solidarity over Maharashtra road accident.

Sixteen griviously injured persons are undergoing treatment at a Sholapur hospital. The sources said that the condition of eight injured persons was critical. Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Government has arranged a special bus from Hyderabad-Sholapur for the relatives of the passengers.

It is known that Hyderabad-Shirdi bound volvo bus of Kaleshwari travels fell off a bridge near Sholapur. There were totally 50 passengers on board and out of them 14 passengers were below 30 years of age and were employees of TCS company. Shirdi bus accident has sent shock waves among people in Hyderabad who often travel to Shirdi by private buses.
