DGP Dinesh Reddy and AP Government filed separate petitions in Andhra Pradesh High Court challenging the verdict of CAT (Central Administrative Tribunal) setting aside Dinesh Reddy as DGP acting on a petition filed by an IPS official, Gautam Kumar. It may be noted that Gautam Kumar challenged Dinesh Reddy's appoint as DGP on the grounds of seniority. CAT immediately set aside DGP and directed the Andhra Pradesh Government to appoint another DGP at the earliest. And the Government approached the High Court challenging the petition.
