In a major respite to Tamil Nadu Governor Rosaiah, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has said that it has no power to serve notices on Rosaiah in connection with a land scam in Hyderabad as Rosaiah was a De Jure Sovereign. The court held that notices cannot be issued to Rosaiah as long as he adorns the seat of Governor. It has also said that the notices issued earlier had been termed null and void.
The High Court has, however, said a counsel can appear before court in lieu of Rosaiah on August 2 in connection with the case. It may be recalled that ACB Court earlier sent notices to Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah over the alleged allotment of government land to private individuals in the busy centre in Hyderabad when he was the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
