The holy Ramadan is round the corner and Andhra Pradesh Government is taking all steps to ensure complete safety in and around the historic Mecca Masjid where scores of Muslim brethren offer prayers. As a part of the same, the government has passed orders for setting up CC TV and metal detectors outside Mecca Masjid.

It may be noted that Mecca Masjid has a history of 400 years. The masjid got Mecca name since the  central arch of the mosque was built with the bricks brought all the way from Mecca. This place reflects the true culture of Hyderabad and the brotherhood of Muslim and Hindu brethren. Every year during Ramadan, the area in and around the mosque would be closed to traffic.
