The left parties have staged a protest in front of Vishakapatnam collectorate demanding the government for providing food security. The CPM polit bureau member, Brinda Karat, who is in Visakhapatnam on a three-day-tour has taken part in the protest. Mrs. Karat, who addressed the media, has said that Centre has been dilly-dallying on the food security bill. She demanded the government to table the food security bill in the parliament at the earliest.
Brinda Karat has said that the Centre was exporting tonnes of food grains. She questioned as to why the Centre was unable to provide food to the have nots. It may be noted that hunger still remains to be a major challenges of the country. Politicians should raise voice against the injustice meted out to the poor, opined the political analysts.
