The home minister Sabitha Indra Reddy has said that complete protection would be given to the people of north east regions residing in Andhra Pradesh. She made these statements in the wake of huge number of people leaving for their native states due to alleged rumours that they would be attacked after Eid. Sabitha Indra Reddy has said that the citizens of India can stay wherever they wish. She has also said that the controversies in north eastern states were not major ones.

She said the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh was normal and urged people not to believe in any kind of rumours. She has also said that a helpline was also set up so that anyone can call up and give information. She even stressed that students from north eastern states should not believe in any rumours and study well.
