Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of Indian cricket team was offered a BJP ticket to contest 2014 Lok Sabha elections, but he's yet to decided on the offer. According to reports the offer has come from Narendra Modi, BJP's prime ministerial candidate, who promised him the berth of Sports Minister in the Cabinet if the party forms government at the centre.
The Bengal sports icon affirmed that he was made an offer to which he was still undecided, reported a leading Bengali daily. Rumours about Sourav joining BJP has been rife since he met Varun Gandhi in mid November through a common friend. Varun is BJP's observer for West Bengal and also BJP's national general secretary.
