Chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that the state government was introducing several schemes to farmers and farmers were not identifying them. He has said that the state government has waived off Rs. 14,000 crore loans, which were taken by the farmers. Further, Kiran Kumar Reddy said Rs. 5.7 crore would be given as loans to farmers. Kiran Kumar, who is in West Godavari district, has said that unemployed youth, instead of relying on government jobs, should also concentrate on self employment options.
The observers said that a large number of farmers' prime need was electricity and state government has failed to provide sufficient electricity supply to the farmers, they said. So, farmers may not really get attracted to the schemes by the government, no matter how big they are, as long as they face power shortage problem.
