Mayor of Hyderabad, Majid Hussain has expressed his anguish over the bad condition of roads in Hyderabad. He has ordered the zonal commissioners to issue show cause notices to deputy commissioner for their negligent attitude. It may be noted that Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) made some repair work to roads last year with four crore rupees and the roads repaired were around 300. Whereas this year GHMC allotted 22 crore rupees for repairing roads but there has been no action so far. So, the mayor ordered the responsible officials to look into this issue promptly and ensure that road repair works are completed within a week.
It may be noted that roads in Hyderabad were damaged so badly that it was causing so much problem to the traffic. Especially at busy areas such as Panjagutta, Khairatabad and Habsiguda, roads were completely damaged. Right from water logging to traffic jams, everything happens in Hyderabad only due to bad roads, said an observer. Now that mayor looked in to the issue, we have to wait and watch whether roads would be repaired now at least.
