One of the most influential people in the pharmaceutical industries in the nation, Dr Anjireddy, who is the Chairman of the renown Dr Reddy's Labs is no more. Suffering from several ailments, since the past 6 months his health was in poor state of affairs. A week ago, Dr Anjireddy was admitted in Apollo, Banjara Hills. Today, he passed away at the age of 73. He is survived by a son and a daughter.

Born in Guntur in 1940, he has scaled to such a level that he was at the acme of every drug manufactured in India. Starting his career in IDPL as an employee, he later went to Pune to pursue his PhD in National Chemical Labs, Pune. In 1984 with an investment of just 25 lakhs he established Dr Reddy's Labs which is today the second largest Pharmaceutical company in the nation.

For his services to the industry of Pharmacy in India, the government has conferred the title of Padmabhushan to Dr Anjireddy. Forbes has listed him as the 64th wealthiest person. The who's who in India like Kiran Kumar Reddy, Chandrababu Naidu, scientists, celebrities and several others expressed their sorrow on hearing the news of the unfortunate demise.
