In a fatal road accident as many as 37 persons were killed on the spot. The unfortunate accident took place in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. The bus on which over 50 persons were aboard lost its control on a bridge and plunged into the river. While 37 were killed, as many as 17 persons were grievously injured. The condition of five persons was said to be critical, said doctors who were treating the injured at the nearest hospital.
