Wrong records and wrong reporting made a Dilsukhnagar bomb blast victim Maruti Bhujanga Rao deprived of the Government announced compensation.
Maruti who belonged to Karnataka came down to Hyderabad for his livelihood and started working for a jilebi shop at Dilsukhnagar. At the unfortunate moment of blast he was at the snacks outlet and the arsenal hit his right eye. With his gathered wits Maruti went to the shop owner holding his wound with his bare palm. The owner of the shop rushed him to Omni hospital at Kothapeta and later shifted to NIMS and again to LV Prasad Eye Institute where he had to spend seven days for the treatment.
Maruti was handed a cheque for Rs.one lakh by the Health and District Authorities The hospital authorities recorded his details as non traceable. Maruti was not aware of the compensation announced by the Government to the tune of Rs.6 lakhs and a promise to give employment to the a family member.
All this happened because of the wrong phone number was recorded by the hospital staff on which Maruti was not available. Living in a poor conditions in the outskirts of Hyderabad, Maruti and his family members were not aware of the Government announcement for higher compensation that what they got. And the Authorities were waiting for the victim’s family members to contact them but they did not make any attempt to trace the beneficiary.
