There are instances of adulterations found at some places in the daily food needs supplied under the Government prestigious scheme of Amma Hastam.  Responding on it the Minister for Civil Supplies Sridhara Babu said that the scheme made for the poor is given an anti publicity by some opposition parties only with a view to get political gains.  The commodities supplied in sealed packs, he suspected, were torn and some other things are kept in there just to give it a bad publicity.  Sridhara Babu suspects that the misdeed might have been done by some dealers belonging to other political parties with mala fide intentions.  

Sridhara Babu also said that the quality in case is really poor the Government will certainly take steps to correct it.  He said that the Government’s endeavor is to improve the quality of Amma Hastam products by June end.   

Daily essentials of nine food items are supplied under Amma Hastam Scheme of the State Government at a subsidized price of Rs.185 to white ration card holders.  

Sreedhara Babu denies poor quality of the food items supplied under scheme and at the same time showed his readiness to correct it.  He also expressed his doubts about the opposition parties’ involvement to disparage the Government’s attempt to help poor.  He also announced that a third party agencies will be appointed for the quality control of the Amma Hastam products.
