Telangana issue in Amma Hastam

The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy started Government's Amma Hastam program in Karimnagar District after which he talked addressing a public meeting in which he cleared to the people of Telangana that formation of a separate State of Telangana is not in his hands. Only Central Govenment is empowered to do it, he says, as Chief Minister he will see that the decision made at the Center is implemented properly.

The issue came when Ponnam Prabhakar Congress Party MP suddenly urged Kiran Kumar in the meeting to put efforts to see that a separate State of Telangana is formed. As he was making that request, he also shouted 'Jai Telangana' which reverberated from the audience spontaneously.

A group of women folk from the audience also shouted the slogan when the PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana started to speak.

The program ironically is called Amma Hastam which means a serving hand of mother and the Chief Minister declared that the formation of Telangana is not in his hands but in the hands of the Center that means Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson of UPA led Government.
