For the first time India, voter registration is started in the State through mobile phones. A voter can apply for a voter ID card through telephone now.
The State Election Officer Bhanwarlal started the program in Infotech in Nanakramguda Hyderabad. He said that the process will soon start through which the smart cards will be issued to the voters. He said that it is for the first time a convenient process of this sort is started in the Country.
Applying through Meeseva or through net is considered as a smart idea so far. But doing it through the cell phone which has become a necessity to everyone nowadays is a step further in using technology in the administration.
