Hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca that is considered by Muslims as the best thing in one's life and the highest service to God is going to start today.
First flight carrying Hajj pilgrims is going to take off from Shamshabad international airport today at 8.30 pm. A total of 300 pilgrims are leaving Hyderabad.
The farewell program at Hajj bhawan at Nampalli Hyderabad at 4.30 pm will be attended by the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. He will flag off the buses carrying Hajj pilgrims to the airport, as the program revealed by the Special Officer S.A.Shukur and Executive Officer Abdul Hameed.
It is the belief of the Muslims that an able person physically fit and financially sound person should visit Mecca at least once in his/her life time during the time of Hajj pilgrimage i.e., 8th to 12th Dhu al-Hijjah in the last month of the year as per Islamic calendar.
Hajj demonstrates the solidarity of the Muslims and their submission to God (Allah).
