Chandra Babu on Indefinite Hunger Strike

The Telugu Desam Party President Chandra Babu Naidu paid tributes to NTR at NTR ghat today before leaving for Delhi to start an indefinite hunger strike today at Delhi.

He told on the occasion to the media representatives that he is only protesting as a responsible leader of the party against the way Congress Party is behaving.  He said that the situation in the State is agonizing to him.  He said that the problems can only be solved through mediation and the Congress party should initiate for it.  He said that Government should always take decisions as per the whims of the people they represent.

Chandra Babu said that the people of Seemandhra are voluntarily coming out in protest.  And the voice of those people should reach the Nation as a whole and that is the purpose of his going on hunger strike at Delhi.

Chandra Babu said that he will pay homage at Rajghat also at Delhi before starting his indefinite hunger strike.  He said that he talked to all the leaders in the TDP before taking a decision on it.  They first suggested that it may look as if he is opposing Telangana.  But he said that the aim is to protest against the behavior of the ruling party unmindful of the people’s demands in Seemandhra.
For the question of the media representatives whether the Government will bow for his protest, Chandra Babu replied that Bapu would not have started his Satyagraha if he doubted so.  He said that anyone with humanity and respect to the democratic values has to bow to the people’s voice.

AICC Chief Secretary Digvijay Singh commented yesterday that the Government has taken a step after taking suggestions from all and it is not proper now to go back from their words which Congress party never do as a national party with long standing goodwill.
