Modi files nomination for Vadodara

Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has filed his nomination from Vadodara constituency short while ago. Modi who has been campaigning for BJP all over the country reached Vadodara airport this morning and directly participated in a massive rally on his way to file nomination.

A tea vendor and Shubhanginidevi Raje-Gaekwad, a member of the city's erstwhile royal family are among the five people who proposed Modi candidacy. Speaking to the media after filing nomination, Modi said, “I hope that all voters in Vadodara will celebrate democracy with enthusiasm and on April 30 vote in large numbers for the BJP.”

Congress's Madhusudan Mistry and Aam Aadmi Party's Sunil Kulkarni will be testing their luck against Modi.

Mr. Modi who is also contesting from Varanasi Uttar Pradesh is yet to file nomination for it. Vadodara will go for polling in April 30 and the deadline for nomination is today.
