Uttar Pradesh leader and Samajwadi Party [SP] supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has sparked a new controversy by questioning the death sentence to men in rape case of a photo journalist.
Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam defended the men who committed the mistake and said “boys do mistakes.” Mulayam made these statements referring to the Mumbai rape case where in three men were convicted.
Mulayam also vowed to bring some changes in law of punishment for such cases if voted into power. The Election Commission and National Commission for Women have filed a complaint against him for making such irresponsible statements.
This remarks could affect the SP chances in the Lok Sabha elections.
