According to the proposal made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yoga is conducted in Rajpath, Delhi, where he participated in the event along with 37000 participants, celebrating the occasion of International Yoga day.
Modi performed various aasans like Kapalbhati, bhujang aasan, trikon aasan, bharadwaj aasan etc for 35 minutes. He even supervised the children behind him later. The PM was dressed in a full-sleeve white T-shirt and pyjama with a tricolour stole he used to wipe his sweat.
The occasion was universally applauded by many officials. Here are the opinions of them, who performed yoga at Rajpath, Delhi.
Shivraj Chouhan: "A dawn of new era when India leads the world on 1st International Yoga Day to spread the message of peace and harmony through Yoga."
Devendra Fadnavis: "Hon Narendra Modi ji's initiative has brought the entire world together on this Yoga day. This new beginning has made every Indian proud."
Dr. Raman Singh: "Changing times have changed our lifestyles. Yoga for 30 minutes will keep us healthy."
Arvind Kejriwal (Delhi CM): “I often perform Yoga to bust stress, it is very essential, but is not something to do politics over."
Kiran Bedi (Retired IPS officer): "Miracle of collective chant of Shanti, Shanti, Shanti, by millions brings pre-monsoon showers in Delhi. Reduces heat and cools even trees."
Modi made Yoga, a political propaganda- Oppositions
Not to the surprise, the Congress party officials were missing from the scenario. Finding the fault, they alleged PM, saying that he made a traditional art a political propaganda.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP have again proven their misconceived usurpation and their vicious ability of turning anything and everything, even the most benign and pious into an aggressive, divisive and propagandist issue," said Randip Surjewala, chief of party's communication department.
However, an initiative like this needs a loud applause. In fact, it is a proud factor that our Indian tradition is being recognized and performed in 192 countries across the world.
