Grama Jyothi programme is officially launched today in ‘Ganga Devi Palli’ village, Warangal, by Telangana Chief Minister KCR.
After Harithaharam project this is another big project of TRS government in the state. Addressing the public after the official launch of Grama Jyothi, , KCR said that, the village is going to shape up well in the future and the Telangana government is going to give enough funds for all types of developmental programmes in the village.
As of now, KCR announced Rs.10 crores for the developmental programmes and also announced drip irrigation for 600 acres. KCR said that, the ‘Ganga Devi Palli’ village is going to be an inspiration to the surrounding villages in the near future.
Grama Jyothi: Government officials hunt for ideal villages
The government officials like Telangana ministers, TRS legislators, MLCs and other public representatives are in a search of ideal villages, to adopt as a part of Grama Jyothi programme.
Ministers are suggested to adopt up to five villages, whereas MLAs should adopt one village in each mandal in their constituency. MLCs can adopt their own village or any other village in their district.
CM KCR directed the public representatives to adopt the villages in their respective districts and develop them as model villages. Rs.25000 crores are allotted towards Grama Jyothi programme, for the development of the villages.
The selection of villages will be completed soon and the developmental programmes are going to start as soon as possible in the villages adopted by the respective public representatives.
