With the intention of improving the passenger revenue collections, Indian railways decided to hike the Tatkal ticket rates.
Several cases in the past, proved that, Railways department is running the losses and the government tried to adjust the fares sometimes, at least to minimize the losses.

The Railways officials said that, the software will be changed accordingly by Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), to adjust the new fares.
On the other hand, the public expressed their unhappiness on the revised rates and opined that, it would be a heavy burden to the middle class people during the festivals and other occasions.
There are people, who even frequently travel on trains upon their business purposes. For them, the burden is expected to be bigger.
Apart from making the several proposes in the budget, increasing the charges separately like this, would show a greater impact on the Central government in the coming days.
