50,961 candidates wrote the EAMCET exam out of which 93.49 per cent passed. The highest pass percentage was registered among ST- 98.77 per cent.
It worked out that 134 applicants who cleared Eamcet-2 had failed in their Intermediate exam. The positions of 427 applicants were withheld, as points of interest of the qualifying exam were not accessible. Of the 1,780 MBBS seats accessible under the convener's quota, 1,060 are in government Colleges and 720 in private institutions. For BDS, 640 seats are accessible under the convener's quota of which 140 are in government colleges.
Speaking to the media, vice-chancellor of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences B. Karunakar Reddy said that “ seats for AYUSH courses would be filled based on ranks obtained in Eamcet-I. He said that 50 per cent of seats in private colleges, including 35 per cent under management quota and 15 per cent under NRI quota, would be filled through ranks obtained in Neet. Eamcet-2 was necessitated as the Supreme Court initially make Neet mandatory nationwide for medical colleges, and then gave exemptions for this year to some states including TS.”
