In a horrific incident, a seven-year-old girl student was thrashed with a leather belt by her tuition teacher in Bengaluru.

According to the police, Bhavana , a second  class student use to go to tuition run by Latha (40). Latha is a resident of Subhash Nagar in Nelamangala. On Tuesday night, Bhavana had gone to tuition classes where she was beaten mercilessly after for not completing her homework.
The girl ran back home and informed her parents about the incident. The parent’s immediately rushed to Nelmangala Police Station and filed a complaint with the police.

“The teacher was known to beat the children who came for the tuitions. This is not the first time that a complaint has been filed against her. We learned that earlier too, Latha had beaten many students who were weak in their studies. But the parents blamed their own children thinking that the teacher was doing right,” said an investigating officer.

The police said that “a few parents had raised the issue when they saw injuries on their wards, but no one came forward to lodge a complaint. This is the first complaint we have received against the private tuition teacher following which she has been booked under various sections of IPC including a Justice Juvenile Act 82,” added the police officer.

Police have booked case on Latha under Sections 324, 504 of IPC and Juvenile Justice Act 82.

Bhavana was a student of St. Joseph School. She was the daughter of Shiva Kumar, a small-time businessman. The tuition teacher was running tuition classes from last 15 years and had good name and reputation in that area.

The girl was hospitalized and her condition is said to be stable.
