FLASH NEWS: Tamil Nadu’s ‘Amma’ is No More; Panneerselvam Becomes the New CM

Hours after suffering from cardiac arrest, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa died at Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Monday night 11.30 pm (05-12-2016). Finance Minister O Panneerselvam has become the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
The CM has been in hospital and on Monday morning just before the CM had recovered and was about to be discharged from the hospital, doctors of Apollo Hospital announced that Jayalalithaa had suffered cardiac arrest. Her health stayed critical till evening and she was put on life supporting system.
"Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, who suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening, continues to be very critical and is on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and life support systems", said Apollo Hospitals in a statement on Monday.
Security was also beefed up after huge chaos took place outside the hospital. Though AIADMK cadres prayed for recovery of ‘Amma’, their leader left the world leaving them in huge shock.
Last week, Apollo Hospitals chairman Dr. Prathap C Reddy said: "Jayalalithaa she was using a speaking aid as it was difficult for her to speak with the tracheostomy."
Jayalalithaa was admitted on September 22 after she complained of fever and dehydration. She was also put on ventilator. She was known as the transforming leader. She was the mother of Tamil Nadu. Now the mother has left her followers with huge grief.
