India Ready For One Nation One Poll:- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hinted at a change in the election system of the country. A month after this, the Chief Election Commissioner of the country, Sunil Arora revealed that the Election Commission of the country is ready to implement 'One Nation One Poll' in the country. Speaking to the national media, Sunil Arora said that they are ready for the plans. All the amendments as per the law by legislature and the Election Commission of India is ready for One Nation One Poll. Narendra Modi hinted of the program in November and a single voter list is getting ready.
One Nation One Poll is to prevent the impact of the model code of conduct on the development works that are coming to a halt in the states and regions. Modi earlier said that the elections are held in different places of the country in different times and this is disrupting the development programs and activities. Modi also suggested a single voters list for Lok Sabha, Assembly along with the panchayat polls instead of separate lists which is waste of time and infrastructure. Modi said that the Judiciary, Legislature and Executive should work with better coordination and national interest. The opposition parties are not in the favor of the process. As per the developments, India would head for polls early this time and there would be no wait till 2024.
