AP PRC Issue: Employees end Strike:- The government employees of Andhra Pradesh have been protesting against the new PRC issued by the state cabinet. A series of meetings were held but the talks ended up on a negative note. The PRC Sadhana Committee announced that the entire government employees of AP will head for strike from February 7th. Chalo Vijayawada is a massive success after close to 4 lakh employees protested on the roads against the government of AP. The talks are said to have ended on a fruitful note on Saturday night after which the employees decided to withdraw their indefinite strike. The government is said to have agreed to the demands of the employees and agreed for certain benefits.

The House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be increased and pay revision will be done for every five years. The state cabinet met the employee union leaders yesterday for seven hours after the talks failed on Friday night. The government clarified that there would be no change in the 23 percent fitment that was announced in January. It also clarified that there would be no immediate adjustment of the interim relief dues for July 1st 2019 to March 30th, 2020. The government announced that these would be adjusted in the retirement benefits. SRK Reddy, the Government Advisor for Public Affairs announced that the talks were successful and the government will revise HRA Slabs as per the population of the location. All the government employees in the district headquarters will get 16 percent HRA. All the revised HRA slabs will be applicable from January 2022.

The retired employees aged between 70 and 74 will get 7 percent additional quantum of pension and those in between 75 and 79 will get 12 percent. The AP government also agreed to have own Pay Revision Commission for every five years.
