KCR plans to intensify protests on Centre's Paddy Procurement:- Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and his cabinet are quite furious after the Centre ignored the farmers of the state. The Centre rejected the proposal of purchasing the rice from the state. KCR and the supporters of TRS, MLAs, MPs protested against the Centre in the past couple of months. KCR said that the state would stage nation-wide protests if the demands for the farmers are not met. KCR now told the team of ministers that there would be more talks with the Centre. The team recently went to Delhi to have a word with the Centre about the farmers. KCR wanted the leaders to intensify the agitations against the Centre in the state.
Some unanimous resolutions will be passed by the elected bodies right from the villages to the towns and the capital. The state will mount the pressure on the Centre to procure the paddy from Telangana. All these resolutions will be sent to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his office along with the Union Food Ministry. KCR had plans to meet Narendra Modi about the same but he dropped his plans now. The team of ministers met KCR and briefed about the recent developments in Delhi. They said that the Union Minister Piyush Goyal did not given enough time to explain about the paddy procurement.
On the other side, Union Minister Kishan Reddy slammed TRS and KCR for terming BJ asn an anti-farmers party. He said that the Centre is ready to purchase the rice from Telangana but KCR has been making political interests out of the issue. He said that the Telangana government did not allocate any funds for the Food Corporation of India (FCI).
