In a surprise move, the BJP on Wednesday admitted into the party Yennam Srinivasa Reddy, the former Mahbubnagar district TRS president. Its state president G Kishan Reddy announced that Reddy would be the party’s candidate for Palamuru.
Srinivasa Reddy after quitting the TRS became a strong critic of TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao. He also hobnobbed with YSR Congress Party, but preferred to continue with Telangana forces as the movement was it its peak. Earlier during day Kishan Reddy also sprang another surprise by saying that henceforth if any by-election arose following resignation for the cause of separate T state, BJP would contest in those constituencies as well.
This move by the BJP is being seen as a major road-block in the efforts for a patch-up between BJP and TRS. Yennam, according to BJP sources, enjoys considerable clout in the segment.
