Lord Ganesha's immersion time has arrived. Since Monday the city is gearing up for the grand festivities that usually mark the immersion activities. Police in the city are also busy making sure security is tight.
More than 15,000 security personnel will be available for the sole purpose of keeping an eye on the immersion proceedings. No trouble maker will be allowed to go scot free if reports are to be believed. Peace will be ensured as 13 companies of para-military forces are sending personnel to oversee the immersion processions.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma reported that 390 mobile patrolling teams and 32 bomb disposal squads, including 25 sniffer dogs will keep an eye, in some cases noses, on any fishy incidents.
The Commissioner also promised that there will be no use of heavy music systems during the immersion and that the police will monitor all anti social elements. While the Hussainsagar lake is the main point of immersion, all water bodies in and around the city will see over 50,000 idols being immersed on Wednesday.
