The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has moved its wings to renovated the city's oldest park. The 70 acre Indira Park at Lower Tank Bund will be seen with more facilities like fresh pathways, clean toilets etc in coming days and GHMC has already started its work.
A rose garden, Palmatum and shade garden works are currently in progress. 400 palms chosen from 50 to 60 varieties have been already planted and to encourage the biodiversity about 70 varieties of indigenous trees were planted so far.
As people turn up more numbers for morning walk from the surrounding areas, GHMC took special interest in restoring the pathway and toilets. However, the management of Indira park claims to have less manpower. One of the officials said, “to maintain such huge park, we need atleast 100 members but currently we have only 45. We have placed a request at GHMC and hopefully they might approve.”
