South Asian nationals in the United States of America have expressed their displeasure over the Supreme Court's verdict holding that a clause need not be removed pertaining to the visa and immigration law. This immigration law was made by Arizona state. South Asian groups have approached the highest court of law against the controversial provision in the immigration law.

The executive director of South Asian Americans Leading Together (SAALT), Deepa Iyer said they (South Asian groups) were disappointed that the provision requiring state and local law police to investigate individuals suspected of being undocuments was not turned down by the Supreme Court.

Arizona governor Jan Brewer has hailed the court's decision and termed it as victory of rule of law. Nonetheless, he said the police who are involved in racial profiling would be punished.
