Off-spinner Ravi Chandran Ashwin engineered the devastation of New Zealand’s batting order today at Chennai by claiming three wickets for 24 runs to post an 8-wicket victory over the visitors in the fifth and final one day international cricket match and help India clean sweep the series 5-0.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first but were all out for just 103 runs in 27 overs paving the way for India to post an easy victory. India coasted to the target with nearly 29 overs to spare.
Part-time spinners Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan chipped in with two wickets each as New Zealand were packed off for their lowest total in one-day internationals against India.
