Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 4 Wickets in IPL-4 T20 Semi final match at Wankhede stadium on Wednesday.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) started nervously; top order losing 4 wickets for 20 runs, with the help of Ryan ten Doeschate's 70 KKR projected a target of 147 runs. But, it is not a big score for blazing starters of Mumbai Indians.
Aiden Blizzard and Sachin Tendulkar together provided a blazing start to the chase and effectively bring up the fifty partnerships in the fifth over. Till 8th over Mumbai Indians were right on top with 81-0. Lee came back to remove Blizzard, but not before the batsman had hit him for four and six in that over, Mumbai had been reduced to 103 for 4 in the 13th. A mini-partnership ensued, but Shakib trapped Pollard to make it 123 for 5. T Suman couldn't handle the nerves and holed out to long-off.
Harbhajan Singh smashed Shakib Al Hasan for a six in the last over of the match as Mumbai Indians won the IPL-4 Eliminator against Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets.
Mumbai Indians 148 for 6 (Blizzard 51, Tendulkar 36, Kallis 2-18, Shakib 2-24) beat Kolkata Knight Riders 147 for 7 (ten Doeschate 70*, Munaf 3-27) by four wickets.
