The fast food counters at several venues of Olympics in London were asked to exclude chips from their menus as the sponsor McDonald's demanded the organizers that none should serve chips. Therefore, the top brass of olympics have sent across circulars to all 800 retuarants, which will set up their food outlets at 40 venues, where games will be held. However, McDonald's permitted the outlets to serve chips only with fish in an attempt to protect the country's famous recipe.
The Olympic bigwigs, in their official memo to , have asked the retailers to try and understand. Notably, the organizers of Olympics have already boasted that the 800 outlets serve varieties of international recipies besides Britain's famous dishes. The observers felt that the visitors would apparently not enjoy dishes of United Kingdom as chips were banned. Some of the famous Britain's recipes are gammon egg and chips, lasgane and chips, chicken and chips, steak and chips, sauage and chips, and gamon.
Meanwhile, several outlets were opposed to this idea of Olympics organizers entering into a deal with McDonalds even after the latter insisting on ban of serving chips with many dishes except fish. In fact, not just restaurant owners but this idea was opposed by even eminent personalities, who were of the opinion that this deal was against Olympic Ideal.
“A glut of sponsored messages for high calorie food and drink that are at odds with the Olympian athletic ideal,” said a Green Park Assembly member, Jenny Jones. On the otherhand, McDonald's is all set to serve the customers various dishes with chips. Notably, a few weeks back McDonald's has revealed its biggest restaurant in the world, which was recently built at London Olympic Park.
If news is to be believed, McDonald's would serve nearly 1200 customers at this new restaurant when the games get underway. The current McDonald's largest restaurant is in Moscow and the newly built restaurant at Olympic Park is said to be bigger than Moscow's restaurant. In fact, the restaurant was built in 3000 square feet.
So, guys, if you can't bite your teeth into the lumps of sizzling hot meat—which is right out of the stove—without chips, then the biggest McDonald's in Olympic Park will only be your destination for food.
