Step down Srinivasan: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Tuesday said that N Srinivasan, chief of Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI], should quit the post for a fair probe into the allegations of spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League.

The Apex court opined that the Mudgal probe panel report in a sealed envelope contains very serious allegations and until Srinivasan quits the post, no fair probe can be conducted. The Supreme also questioned why Srinivasan is still sticking to the post and termed the situation as sickening.

The Mudgal committee submitted its report to the Supreme Court on February 10 and found that Gurunath of Chennai Super Kings [CSK] guilty. Rumors hit the headlines that CSK captain MS Dhoni was also involved in fixing.
