TDP MLAs of the Telangana region, who are demanding the constitution of separate party unit for the Telangana area, have reportedly decided not to put pressure on the party chief Chandrababu Naidu on the issue.
It may be mentioned that the trio of senior leaders Nagam Janardhan reddy, Kadiyam Srihari and Errabilli Dayakar rao have demanded three days ago the constitution of a separate wing of the party for enabling them to carry out the fight for achieving separate Telangana.
Chandrababu bluntly rejected the idea and offered to constitute a committee to continue their fight for Telangana state saying that constitution of Telangana unit is unthinkable when the state is still united. Since they have not agreed to the constitution of a committee, Babu promised to take up the issue after returning from his three-day tour of coastal areas.
However, the TDP MLAs belonging to the Telangana, Andhra and Rayalaseema areas, have reportedly met secretly in the absence of party chief and discussed the issue. What transpired exactly in the meeting is not known but the T region TDP MLAs seems to have convinced themselves that the demand is not justified.
In the changed circumstances, there may not be any fireworks in the proposed meeting on January 13 where the issue will be discussed again as per the promise made by Chandrababu Naidu on his return to Hyderabad.
