Rasika (Kareena Kapoor) supports Pawan in sending the little girl home. The girl, being mute do not utter any word but communicates to Pawan with her eyes. This makes Pawan to develop a special bonding with the kid in a short time.
Later a few of the circumstances compel Pawan to cross the border illegally to find the girl's parents. In this process, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a small time freelance TV reporter supports the duo in reaching the destination. Finally, did the little girl reached her parents? What are the circumstances that, Pawan faced in Pakistan for illegally entering into the country? The answers for these questions forms the rest of the story.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan Analysis
The first half of the film shows how Salman grew the attachment with the girl. More than the dialogues, Salman and Harshaali's communication through eyes drags the attention. Salman is shown in honest nature. On the whole, the first half is quite entertaining along with the heart touching emotional scenes between Harshaali and Salman.
The second half discusses about the actual theme. The circumstances that led Salman enter into Pakistan and the situations he faced in that country are to be talked about in this part of the movie. Though the story becomes predictable at a point of time, the terrific screenplay makes the audience stick to the seats. Though there are few dips in second half, it still entertains.
Performance
Unlike his previous films, Salman got to do something new this time. Especially his communication through eyes takes his acting levels to the peak. Harshaali has given a very tough competition to Salman in terms of acting. In a few of the emotional scenes in the second half, her acting as a mute girl even makes the audience put Salman aside for a while and watch this little girl. Though Kareena had not much to do with the film, she gave a satisfactory performance for the role she was offered.
On the other side, Nawazuddin Siddiqui gave a brilliant performance as a TV reporter. Om Puri and Rajesh Sharma are anyway good on their part.
Aseem Mishra's cinematography flourishes well. He is almost the second king after the director for portraying fantastic barren deserts and mofussil towns. The narration and screenplay might have been better, but the director is successful in bringing out the emotions well. On the whole, Bajrangi Bhaijaan does not disappoint.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan Final Word
If you are not a typical commercial movie lover and loves to watch the emotional content with a message, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is the film you would love to watch.
